présentation interactive : rue Notre Dame

Project Description

The City of Montreal's chose Genivar's 3D simulation and geomatic cognitive communications department to assist in the process of development of the proposed changes for the modernisation of Notre-Dame Street.

The presentation served internally as they worked towards finalizing the project and on into public presentation. 3D simulation within an interactive presentation is an ideal manner for explaining complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders, for whom the degrees of technical knowledge vary greatly.

r42 was responsible for the intelligent assembly of the elements into a Flash-based interactive presentation. Information is presented in an organized and contextual manner. Navigation is clear and built to guide the user through the project in a logical manner, while at the same time affording maximum user control. It also allows users to interact and navigate around the project to access the points of interest as they wish – a useful feature for collaboration.

In addition to the graphic design of the user interface (GUI), interactive design was layered as well, ensuring that all of the content – contextual text, motion design of non-video elements and the synchronization of all the elements together with narration and music – provided the best possible user experience.

Of particular note in this project, is the inclusion of contextually simulated sound. In addition to the visual aspects, the noise impact of the project was also represented. Users can hear for themselves the anticipated reduction of noise pollution provided by a sound barrier wall, and that in context as you move throughout the project.

This project was built in Flash as a stand-alone piece and thus it can be used in multiple contexts from the web to presentation at assemblies.
