Some memories from 20 years ago

It has been all over the news these past days: It is 20 years now that the Berlin wall came down.

With all this media coverage there would be no point for me to add another article about this event. But it happened that back then I decided - together with some friends from my home town, Stuttgart - to drive the 600 km up to Berlin and help bringing it down.

Five days after the historical event, Berlin was still the place to be and as you can see, we weren't the only "Wall pickers".

Berliner Mauer - Teil 2

Tough piece of work indeed, so you better take some turns. BTW, the guy on the left, that is me...

Berliner Mauer - Teil 3

While I am breaking up a stone from the top of the Wall, Jake is checking out how many East police officiers there are still on the other side: They still had to work!

I remember friends of German origin from Montreal jumping on planes to get over there to join in. It must have been amazing to participate. What a special time for everyone.

And more importantly, look at you with all that hair! 80's hair was scary stuff. :-)
