r42 meets the Kentico Team

Two weeks ago I had the chance to meet three pillars of the Kentico team: CEO and Kentico founder Petr Palas, CTO Martin Hejtmanek and the support team around Juray Ondrus, brilliant and hard working folks all!

During our meeting I had the opportunity address several issues that we’ve experienced in using the system, particularly concerning the handling of multiple languages in their CMS. The Kentico team confirmed that by early 2010, it will be even more convenient to work with multi-language sites, which is not only good news for the Quebec market, but also for all solution providers that work on international sites.

Furthermore, I had the privilege to have a glance at the new improved search engine, which is based on Lucene. It’s not only a LOT faster than the current search engine, but also includes search result ratings. More good news: the media libraries that were introduced in version 4.0 will be better integrated into the workflow. Version 4.1 will be available in August.

Overall, my impression of the organization was confirmed; Kentico is really listening to its partners and that the right people are making the right decisions.

Conclusion: The Czech Republic not only produces the best beer in the world, but also the best CMS...
