New Google Analytics Feature: Annotations

I use Google Analytics (GA) regularly for many sites that I monitor and it seems like I'm often suddenly stumbling upon a new feature, not knowing if it is around for a while or not. This happend to me again today. This time it is a new little button that has a cool feature attached to it: Annotations.

Almost every significant change in your web statistics has a reason, be it an e-mail campaign or a site overhaul. The thing is that once you have time to analyze your web stats you have a hard time remembering exactly when that activity actually took place.

Until now it was not possible to make any personal notes in GA about marketing activities or web site changes that may have an impact on your site's usage. But now there is this cool little button:

Google Analytics - Annotations

1: The button; 2: The icon for an annotation

And there is also already a YouTube Video that explains what it does. Enjoy.

True. The YouTube video is also dated end of December, but not all changes are deployed immediately in GA. And then again, you don't discover them all the time the first day...
