First Issue of Kentico Developer Magazine launched

Early in August I was contacted by Richard Pendergast, the publisher of the Kentico Developer Magazine. He was searching around for ideas and content for the first issue of the magazine. Convinced by this brilliant idea, that I hope will bring a bit of life into the still underdeveloped Kentico-Community, I promised to support his project as much as I could.

And even after the one hour Skype interview with Richard (it felt more like a nice chat), and following the progress of the work via Twitter, I was quite amazed when I realized that this first issue was mostly about…well, me…

Currently only available as online version, but the print version of this clean and sleek issue will follow.

But first things first. Someone was forgotten here! The cover of this first issue would not have been possible without Eric Naaman, who shot the portrait just a couple of days before the release. Eric is without any doubt one of the best professional photographers in Montreal. If you want to see more of his work, simply visit his web site, definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

Also, time again to say "Thanks" to Alice O'Brien for not only editing my blog post, but also debating the ideas from a content manager's point of view. Without her, for sure, this blog would not exist.

"The value of a magazine stems from the fact that it is not dynamic, it is not now, and it is not realtime."

Back to the magazine, I am very pleased with the direction it is supposed to take:

"A magazine sets out to provide an insightful window into the past - however recent, surrounding it with commentary and observation, colouring the everyday and producing a snapshot for the future...
...
One day I hope to look back [...] to discover best practices that still stand, and discussions surrounding techniques that still apply
"

If ever my time permits, I hope to contribute one article to every issue. The subject is exciting and I think there is plenty of information and ideas to be shared and discovered. Hopefully, there are more developers out there that want feel the same way.
